"First Blooms" is 3-3/4" x 6" and 6-1/2" x 8-1/2" framed. My inspiration came from our weekend bike ride through the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. This was an organized 40 mile ride to raise money for the Skagit Valley Medic One's Kids Bike Safetly program. I can now say that I had a good time, but I wasn't a happy camper the last 15 miles on Saturday. A strong wind was blowing straight in our faces, rain was threatening and I only saw half a dozen blooming tulips. I managed to ride the longest ride of my life and only broke down in tears twice. I did see the potential for a beautiful sight. I can just imagine fields of color as far as the eye can see.
"Explorations in Green" is 7-1/2" x 9" mounted on 11" x 14" Bristol board. I love to take a color and find different embellishments that show off its different shades and textures. I only had twelve squares so I used buttons, brads, wire beads, silk, mohair and ribbon.

Oopsie! Forgot to sign it.. This is Cindy.
I love First Blooms....green is my favorite color and I love that your inspiration came from a then difficult but now fondly-remembered bike ride! Bicycling will only get easier - never harder!
