Accidental Cross

This is a quilt I made from a piece of muslin that I used to clean up spilled paint. I cut it up into various rectangles and arranged them in a composition. I laid them out in a horizontal orientation. When I looked at the quilt vertically I saw the three crosses. What an exciting revelation. I really like the texture of the randomly painted fabric, but I'm not happy with the contrast in the piece. I tried adding the silver paintstick to the crosses, but I don't think it worked. I need to experiment with a higher contrast fabric. I am working and learning all the time.

Hi!
Like you, I'm new on the Fiber Arts Friend blog ring. I am totally blown away by the many images, the imagination, the creativity, and even the fiber-related vocabulary that so many of the "veteran" fiber arts bloggers seem to possess. Your blog is no exception. I adore the fiber beads and can relate to your profile statement in almost every way. I, too, have set off the alarms in many of the museums I've visited...most of my favorites are in your hometown. I've been going into "museum withdrawal" since I no longer have a son attending school in DC. I will greatly look forward to more images and posts from you.

It's amazing what you find in 'wipe up' cloths. How about layering sheer fabrics over this one? That may give you an idea of where to go.

Love, love, LOVE it.
I get tickled when things just happen like that. What a blessing!
